BladeRunners offers two weeks of employment training, certifications, and job search support for construction, hospitality, or retail.

BladeRunners is an intensive two-week program (Mon–Fri, 8:30am–3:30pm) providing essential safety certifications like First Aid and WHMIS, alongside job search training and specialized industry streams in construction or retail/hospitality. Upon completion, you receive a financial bonus and the credentials needed for entry-level work.
The support continues after training with a dedicated job coach to assist your job search and ongoing “paid touchback sessions” once you are employed. This ensures you have the mentorship needed to navigate workplace challenges and maintain long-term employment.
The Program
Employment program for youth ages 15 to 30 who are unemployed and seeking work in construction, retail, or hospitality.
BladeRunners

Safety certifications (Emergency First Aid, WHMIS, Back & Ladder Safety).
Resume and cover letter preparation.
Breakfast and lunch during training.

Construction Stream: Fall Protection, Tool Belt Basics, Measuring Made Simple, Power Tools Orientation, Basic Hand Tool Project, Worksite Orientation, Construction Site Training Systems Certificate, Hearing Test.
Retail/Hospitality Stream: Barista Training and Coffee Roasting, Food Safe, Customer Service Skills, Prep Cooking Basics with The London Chef, Kitchen Language Skills.
Location: 100-637 Bay Street, Victoria. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (2 weeks).
Eligibility
BladeRunners is open to:
Youth ages 15 to 30.
Not currently in school, unemployed or under-employed.
Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Documents needed to register: Government ID, Social Insurance Number (SIN), Proof of status (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person).
