Housing

Our Goal

Our clients receive support related to personal routines, community awareness, and social maturity. The goals of the Forensic Program at Manchester House is to promote independence while providing  robust support services that enhance community safety and promote a successful transition.

The Manchester Program accommodates up to 2o residents under either the CSC and 6 residents in the Forensics Stream.  Manchester  is centrally located in Victoria near shopping facilities, main bus routes, with easy access to Camosun College, the University of Victoria, and employment centers.

Residents are responsible for providing their own meals with the encouraged use of the fully equipped kitchens across all 3 residences. Residents are required to assist in the overall maintenance of the residences, keeping their rooms and other areas clean and organized. Laundry facilities are also available.

The Manchester Program is designed to reflect accountability and independent living.  The expectations of daily living at any of the 3 residences and in the community become the core of the program. These expectations include:

Cooking meals for oneself;  budgeting money; dealing with addictions;  searching for employment;  going to work or school; cleaning up after oneself; making appointments and following through;  Healthy relationship development and Communal housekeeping chores.

Each participant at Manchester  is connected with a personal counsellor for one on one support. These relationships with counsellors provide the support and encouragement to enable independent living and social standing within the community. Staff who reside at the home, provide moral support, accountability and goal setting for participating residents. Manchester is a place to work at what one hopes to accomplish.
