Join The WEST
WEST is a free, retail, hospitality and construction employment program. Clients in the WEST program are given support and mentorship for sustainable, long-term employment.
The program consists of 3 weeks in the classroom, followed by 20 weeks of paid quality employment. The program provides job readiness and employability skills, assisted job search, ongoing support, and mentorship.
Clients work with WEST staff to achieve the following goals:
- Provide employability and life-skills workshops

What Does the Program Include?
- 3 weeks of employment skills training (Monday to Friday)
- Paid living allowance for up to 30 hours a week for the 3 weeks of in class training
- 20 weeks of a paid quality employment opportunity in retail, hospitality, or construction industries
- Wellness support and client centred supports
- Ongoing employment support and mentorship from a Job Coach
- Breakfast and lunch each day during the 3 weeks of in class training
- On going assisted job search and support
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) once you secure employment
- Touchback sessions with a Job Coach once you’re employed
- Paid touch back sessions
- Emergency First Aid WHMIS
- Back & Ladder Safety
- Workplace Essential Skills
- Stress Busters
- Guest Speakers from the different industries

Requirements
- You are between the ages of 15-30 and not in school
- You are unemployed and looking for employment
- You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- You are seeking employment in the retail, hospitality, or construction industry
- You are willing to commit to complete 3 weeks of employment skills training AND 20 weeks of a paid quality employment opportunity
- You have a hard time finding and maintaining employment

- SIN
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Persons in Canada
